How to Split a Commit in Git

Sometimes I think “that commit is too big, I need to break it down to smaller ones”. It might be the case that I did two things in one commit, and I want to have one commit per thing. In these times, I wonder whether it’s possible to do that. Well, the sooner you want to do it, the easier it is.
